## About the Institution
Established in 1959, **Gochar Mahavidyalaya, Rampur Maniharan, Saharanpur**, is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education in Western Uttar Pradesh. Founded by the visionary socialist and educationist **Chaudhary Multan Singh**, the institution was established with the noble objective of providing quality higher education in Agriculture and Science to the students of rural and semi-urban areas.
During the early 1950s, opportunities for higher education, especially in agriculture, were extremely limited in the Saharanpur region. Recognizing the need for accessible and affordable education, Chaudhary Multan Singh established **Gurjar Degree College** in 1959. The college was later renamed **Gochar Mahavidyalaya** during the 1970s and gradually evolved into a leading center for academic excellence, agricultural education, and rural development.
Affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, the college initially offered undergraduate programs in Agriculture and has since expanded into a multidisciplinary institution offering programs in:
